Location & Surroundings

The House is located in the south of Bayreuth in the Birken precinct.  The facilities of the University as well as the city centre are easily accessible from there on foot or by public transport.  There is also a supermarket and a bakery in the immediate vicinity.  The Hofgarten (city park) and the city centre can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. 

All the sights of the town, as well as scheduled cultural and public events can be found, for example, on the website of the City of Bayreuth.

The district of Bayreuth also offers a wide range of leisure activities.

Recommendations:

For example, we urge you to visit the Opera House, which has been included in UNESCO's World Heritage List since 2012.  We also suggest that you visit the Richard Wagner Museum, which offers exciting impressions of the composer and his life and work.

We furthermore invite you to stroll and relax in our Ecological Botanical Garden on the university campus. The flora from all over the world will surely inspire you and is worth a visit all year round.
